BYD-Naval Architects was appointed as the Principal Naval Architect for the Francis Drake Project, a major refit that breathed new life into an existing vessel. This comprehensive transformation began with a full laser scan to extract critical design information, allowing us to reverse-engineer the vessel and develop a refined vision for both its interior and exterior.

Our scope of work encompassed full structural engineering, ensuring the integrity and longevity of the vessel’s modifications. We also executed complete systems design and engineering calculations, optimizing functionality and efficiency to meet modern standards while preserving the vessel’s classic character.
